Overnight Remedies for Dry Skin

Overnight Remedies for Dry Skin by monkeysmiles

Believe me when I say that I am an expert at having dry skin. It always tends to sneak up on me when I least expect it too. I can usually stay moisturized by applying lotion two times a day and drinking a ton of water but every once in a while, I’ll get a patch of crazy dry skin. I’ve tried everything to prevent it, including special lotions, sugar and oil scrubs, coconut oil and more but nothing seemed to work.  None of the below are earth-shattering miracles however if by sharing my results, I can help someone else feel more comfortable in their own skin, it’s worth it.  After trial and error, here are my secrets to transform your skin overnight because let’s get real, nobody has time for a week-long routine to see results.

Hands

Apply Neosporin to dry areas including but not limited to your knuckles, cuticles and spaces between fingers, right before bed and leave it on overnight. When you wake up, you’ll see a huge difference and super soft hands!

Feet

Same idea as the dry hands, apply Neosporin to any problem areas on your feet and fall asleep. A little tip: wait until you’re in bed to apply the Neosporin or else you’ll risk tracking it through your house and wiping off precious moisturizing gold! Although this has worked wonders on my feet, I have noticed that depending on how dry they are, it may take 2 or 3 nights for a noticeable difference.

Face

When I’m sick or have been outside in the cold, windy weather, I’ll get dry patches under my nose or between my mouth and cheeks. Chapstick is not just for lips anymore. Apply it (I use original) on the dry skin on your face before bed and you can thank me in the morning. I hope this doesn’t need to be said but I’ll say it anyway. Please keep the chapstick away from your eyes.

Eyelashes

So no, I don’t get dry patches on my eyelashes but if you feel that yours need a little life put back in them, try applying Vaseline. Not only will it moisturize your lashes, but it’s a dream for removing eye makeup (apply and wipe away with a clean cloth)!

As a dry skin spokesperson, I would love to hear how you keep your skin silky smooth and moisturized. Any overnight remedies that I need to try out?
