Frantic Friday #1

This is my first Frantic Friday post.  Knowing that I won’t be staying at home with the kids in 6 months, I thought it would be fun to slow down and document the day, creating a diary of sorts. I may venture into recording our Fridays…we shall see.  I hope not all of our Fridays will be frantic but with two kids, you just never know.  Enjoy!

Both kids are at home all day today because we’re all still trying to get over this nasty sickness we’ve had for a couple of weeks.  These colds are no joke and seem to last forever.  I woke up to a rainy morning, realizing that today was Good Friday and that all the stores would be closed.   Why I’ve been here almost 3 years and still haven’t gotten used to when the stores close, I’ll never know.  I guess we’ll be having grilled cheese for dinner tonight.  I hope stores are open on Saturday.  I have some much needed Easter basket shopping to do.  We had two large spills within 2 minutes, successfully drenching the couch and my laptop.  But no use crying over spilled milk, right? On to my coffee!

I managed to wash the dishes while Monkey played and Sister pushed the kids table around the kitchen, nascar style.  Have I mentioned before that this kid likes to push around furniture?  She should come in handy during our move.

After a fairly unremarkable lunch, Sister went up for a nap and Monkey and I were able to spend some time together, playing with fondant.  Yes, you read that correctly, fondant.  I had some leftover and what’s better than eating something you’ve just sculpted out of sugar? Nothing, that’s what.

When Hubs gets home, we’ll decorate Easter eggs using our “Volcanic” dye kit (something tells me this will warrant some photos).  I’m off to research store hours for Saturday and prep our gourmet meal of grilled cheese. Have a great weekend! FranticFriday1
